Hi everyone, I'm back! Let me tell you about my first camping in a tent:-(from 5/24-5/26 in Morgan Hill)
We had to wake up pretty early to get ready for our trip. Plus, it took us forever to pack the night before. We left our house at about 4:30 PM.It took us almost a whole day to reach the camp. (felt like forever)But on the way, we had to cross a lot of winding, narrow roads, and beautiful. We finally reached our campsite at 6:30 PM.We were the 3rd group to arrive. As my parents, my uncle and aunt set up the tents ,my cousin , Aarthi, and I explored the campsite. She also showed her tent and her favorite doll,Sally. Vineeth and his best friend started played Badminton,so we joined in.After that long game, the tent was finally ready. When everybody had arrived,we started the campfire. After everybody ate dinner,we gathered around the fire and sang songs and ate corn on the cob. We all slept in the tent at 12:30AM. That's a pretty late bedtime isn't it?I slept for only 7 hours.
I was exhausted in the morning.I was awake at 7:00.I was ready for breakfast by 7:55AM. I ate croissants and drank milk. After breakfast,we set out for a walk to the creek. We left camp at 9:30AM.At the creek, we found a few unusual rocks. Also, Aarthi and me jumped stones to get across the creek. The water was freezing cold. After we finished playing in the water,we set out hiking to Knobcone Point.
On the way, I took pictures of interesting landmarks. These gave importance to the camp. The first landmark was the White Alder(2)which is a kind of tree. Our next stop was the Blackberries(4)which grew in groups. Then,we passed the Poison Oak(5)which is a very giant oak tree. Our next stop was Thimbleberry(6)which is a kind of berry that grew near a river. Then,we passed the Canyon Live Oak(8).It was a huge. After that,we passed the California Laurel(10).Next,we passed Sticky Monkey(11)which is a tree on a hill. And finally, the California Nutmeg(12)which is another kind of tree. Finally,we reached the pathway to Knob Cone Point. The road got steeper as we proceeded. Even worse, Vineeth and I were trying to climb a slippery hill all by ourselves.
We tried hard and finally, we reached the top. But it turned out that our hard work was for nothing. We went all this way and we reached a dead end. When we were on the bottom,I spotted a small pond with a little waterfall right beside it.It looked liked a foot bath but bigger. The water was freezing. So we decided head back.(After dinner.....)It was 10:00 PM.But we were still hungry. So,we set up another barbecue.Yummm!Yummy corn on the cob! With full stomachs,we slept at 12:00AM.This was the coldest day of the summer. It was as cold as December. And even weirder,I shivered sooooo hard, I forgot I was sleeping! When we were on the way home thought about all the exciting things we did during our trip.I felt sorry to say goodbye to the camp.I hope I go camping again. And that's how our story ends.
~~The End~~
