Hello folks! It's September, which means it's time to get back to work! Anyways, about 3 weeks ago, I visited the PreetiRang sanctuary in Dixon, California. Established in on May 5, 2013, PreetiRang sanctuary is a non-profit organization that saves helpless and needy farm animals from abuse of the economical industry. It is on 40 acres of beautiful, vast pasture with a seasonal 4 acre lake. preetirangsanctuary.com states, "PreetiRang sanctuary was created to provide an anxiety-free home for animals who are traditionally treated only for economic commodities." Their motto is that every life has a chance to express itself.

Throughout our experience at the sanctuary, we made numerous animal friends. First, we said hi to the little ones. We met Luv and Kush, two adorable, innocent twin goat kids. Both were saved from the slaughtering industry. After that, we met two cute calves that were just too cute to handle. Their names were Harvey and Hari. One of them started sucking the caretaker's finger after he finished his milk like he had a memory of his mom. He was so cute! Next, we met some chickens and beak-less chickens, who were frolicking about. I attempted to hold one, but it just flew out of my hands! Later, the caretaker directed our attention to a herd of full-grown cows grazing peacefully across the pasture. There names were Chester, Shiva, Brahma, Buster, Mahalaksmi, and Jai.Jai was the sanctuary's first resident. Mahalakshmi, being the only female of the herd, was the boss of them all. As we were walking through the pointy grass, I realized I forgot to wear boots! I sure did learn my lesson in that encounter! After a long and excited day, we settled down for some scrumptious snacks. When it was time to go, we waved promisingly at the little ones. On the way back home, I thought about the eventful and ecstatic adventure we had that day.
